Big Business is Always Bad Business Discuss Pros and Cons - 275 Words

Big Business is Always Bad Business: Discuss Pros and Cons (Essay Sample) Content: Big Business is Always Bad BusinessNameInstitution AffiliationMorals are the first thing we see in the morning when we read the newspapers. They help in providing a guideline for the way of life. In our personal and economic lives, ethics are the rules for reference when going about our business. The notion that big businesses are always bad businesses is a debatable one CITATION Man12 \l 1033 (Velasquez, 2012). There are those who might support this and there are also those who have their own reasons to reject this. Mostly, this debate is mainly argued from the fact that these people compare big businesses with small ones. The effects that big businesses have on the environment, on the governments, the employees and the consumers are usually seen as a basis of whether to accept or reject the statement. Those who may support this may argue on the basis of the main motive of big businesses. This motive is profit maximization. They do not care how they will achieve the maximum profit but that is what keeps them in business. Many big companies have been accused of tax evasion. They produce fake audited reports so as to pay a less amount of tax compared to the required tasks. These companies also mistreat their employees by not offering them proper remuneration or appreciation for their efforts. A good example is the IPhone factory workers in the United States whereby the workers earn an average of $300 a month. This means that these workers cannot afford the products that they are manufacturing. Big businesses are also seen as a monopoly or dictatorship. They always crush and stifle little competition that comes from the little and small businesses. With this power, they can control the prices in the market and hence can charge the customers the much they want. These businesses may also have adverse effects on the environment such as emitting harmful gases into the atmosphere or even getting rid of toxic waste materials by dumping them into the riv ers and other water sources CITATION Wil14 \l 1033 (Watson, 2014).Those who refute the notion also state their own pros of big businesses. Senior Dance Presentation The 5th Door Essay Example

Senior Dance Presentation The 5th Door Essay Expression’s fascinating dance piece, The 5th Door, was released in 2004 by award winning choreographer Maggie Sietsma. Based on the classic tale of Bluebeard, the eminent masterpiece reveals the emotional journey of a young woman who becomes the eighth wife of a wealthy Lord named Bluebeard, who’s first seven wives have died under mysterious circumstances. The unique repertoire is a stunning fusion of movement, music and text. It investigates a destructive relationship and exposes us to erratic, explosive behaviours that arises in domestic violence’.[CITATION Exp l 3081 ]. Sietsma has cleverly unraveled the daunting and innovative story through her influence and representation of movement and non-movement components. She has effectively emphasized to the audience the obscurity of bluebeard and the suffer he induced o n all of his wives. Sietsma efficiently sustains her choreographic intent through further dance components, including signature motifs; such as aggressive partner work, high and low extensions and fierce verbal speech to indicate the distressing experiences the wives encountered. The Emergence of the Tragedian essays

The Emergence of the Tragedian essays By 1600, international trade routes, which had been centered around the Mediterranean Sea for centuries were almost entirely based around Northern Atlantic countries like Spain, France and England. The economic explosion, and widespread circulation of money that came with this was accompanied by the invention of the printing press. Because of the newfound ability to spread information that the printing press afforded, the period is marked by scientific advancement, a return to intellectual and artistic ideals, national pride, and a sense of individual empowerment never before seen. It was also at this time that the previously dubious profession of acting, or playing moved slowly from the ouskirts of societal acceptance to having a central cultural role in England. The actor attained a respect and place in society which he did not previously possess. This was marked by a shift in popular taste, critical attention, and financial compensation from the comedic rustic clowns to more dramatic tragedians. This is significant because it was at this time that England produced its most highly acclaimed dramatic works, the most basic foundations of skillful acting are established, and acting gains enough respect to remain an important art form in the centuries to come. Before the printing press, the widely-held concept of social structure was that of a fixed one. The individual existed in a chain of being which accounted for all Gods creatures and placed them in a hierarchy that could not be altered. There was little upward mobility socially or financially for the individual Englishman and there was a strong aristocratic presence. With the printing press and the explosion of accessible knowledge that came with it, and the economic rebirth of England at this time, the individual was granted a new optimism. The printed word, as opposed to the spoken word, is individualistic in nature. The act of reading is an indi...

There come all of the literary tools along the string of this affinity. But in the context of the Irish Literary Revival merging the political sentiment of the writers into their works bloomed to the extent to be considered as the art of political expression. All of the literary artists including W. B. Yeats, Mary Fitzerald, Douglas Hyde etc at the forepart of the Irish Literary Revival are concerned with this political expression in their works. They delve deep into the origin of art, culture, history and their concern with the political ups and downs of Ireland. Both of the writers, Yeats and Moore look back into the pages of Irish history to find out their elements of their works with a view to reviving the past. The literary elements used in their works show and at the same time reveals the souls tormented by the political fractions existing in the country. Either they relate to the events from Irish folk tales in which the heroes are down to the earth and close to the vein of the Isrish mass people. For Moore the political expression is not as explicit as it is in Yeats. Crisis of Political identity is less important than the crisis of cultural identity of the Irish. He is moved with the well and woe of the mass of Irish population. He is more concerend with the confirmation of this identity.
